In cooperation with:

Dear colleagues, dear friends,

Two years ago at this time we started a big trip. We have started a project aimed at connecting us as colleagues, experts and mentors, networking and knowledge sharing and, above all, raising our profession to a higher level. All of our great ideas and heartfelt efforts are immortalized by the First Congress of the Serbian Association of  Endoscopic Surgeons  held in 2017 in Belgrade.

It is an honor and great pleasure to inform you that our journey continues. With the addition of new ideas and will for further development and professional development, I invite you to the Second Congress of Serbian Association of  Endoscopic Surgeons.

At this year’s congress, which will be held from November 14th to 16th, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belgrade, we will deal with the topic of Improvement and progress of minimal invasive surgery in Serbia and the region with presentation through scientific and poster sessions. As in the previous year, minimal invasive surgeons of various specialties including gynecologists, urologists, thoracic and pediatric surgeons will have the opportunity to present their results in parallel sessions. I particularly emphasize the fact that this year’s Congress was organized in cooperation with the Croatian, Slovenian and Bosnian Association of Endoscopic Surgeons, as well as with the Montenegrin and Macedonian Surgical Associations, as well as the organization LAPSERB, which is the most striking indicator of the orientation of the Serbian Endoscopic Surgeons Association towards further improvement of this type of surgery. Also, two years later, SAES has significantly improved relations and communication with partner associations both at the regional, as well as at the European and world level. This is supported by the fact that a large number of eminent professors and doctors from all over the world responded to our invitation to be guest lecturers with active participation in this year’s congress.

Minimally Invasive Surgery is the field of medicine that studies advanced technologies and applies them to avoid the need for large incisions that are used in a traditional approach, with the goal of reducing pain, the incidence of complications, and a faster recovery of patients. There are several different techniques used in minimally invasive surgery, and it is often the case that surgeons have more experience with certain techniques than others. This is precisely why the Association of Endoscopic Surgeons of Serbia was established in order to point out the best examples from practice, ways of successful implementation of minimally invasive methods and possibilities for further development and improvement of this branch of medicine.

Hoping that with your presence you will contribute to this, for us a very important event, I cordially greet you.

With respect,

Srdjan Mijatovic,

MD, assistant professor of surgery

Chairman of the Organizing Committee

Colleagues, dear friends,

Welcome to the Second Congress of SAES.

On June 7, 2016 the Association of Endoscopic Surgeons of Serbia was founded.

SAES is conceived as a professional association that aims to support members of the association and help them directly in the area in which the Association operates. The mission of the SAES is to improve the quality of patients’ treatment in the Republic of Serbia through joint work and exchange of experiences, education, monitoring of contemporary trends and leadership in the field of endoscopic surgery.

Two years ago, the first SAES Congress was held. Over 30 guests, eminent experts in the field of minimally invasive surgery, participated in the work of the Congress. Exhibitions over two hundred days were attended by over 1100 health workers from Serbia and the region. The first SAES Congress changed the paradigm of surgery in the Republic of Serbia.

The second Congress was conceived as a cross-section of the current situation in minimal invasive surgery in the Republic of Serbia, but also throughout the region. I consider that regional cooperation is the key to further development, not only minimal invasive surgery, but surgery in general.

I am pleased that the activities of the Association and this Congress are of considerable interest. Participation in the Congress is not the privilege of the selected ones, but it is the privilege of those who deal with minimal invasive surgery.

We invite all smart and capable people who are ready to invest work and energy in achieving the goals of the Association to join us and help us in our work. The Association is welcomed by surgeons and other specialists, but not only surgeons, but also medical technicians and instutaries, internists, anesthesiologists and transfusiologists, dietitians and nutritionists and all others who can integrate their work and engagement into the goals of the SAES.

The key is that what we love to do is work together. SAES should be experienced as a family that you all welcome.

In the end, but not least, I would like to thank all the sponsors, who enabled the work of the association, especially the organization of this Congress, and I hope for further successful cooperation.

Once again, welcome and thank you for supporting our second SAES Congress with your presence.
